Nick first came to us from an outdoor colony made up of both feral cats and pets who had been left behind when tenants moved out. When the buildings were eventually condemned, the colony was cared for by local residents, one of whom contacted us for help as the situation grew out of control.
During our TNR efforts, we learned that Nick had been abandoned nearly ten years earlier. Despite spending so long outside, and despite being unneutered, severely matted, flea-infested, suffering from ear mites, and testing positive for FIV, Nick’s gentle personality shone through immediately. When removed from the trap, he leaned in and began purring, showing us right away that he was a companion at heart.
Because of his sweet, affectionate nature, Nick entered foster care, where he spent two years waiting for the right family. He finally found his forever home with a couple in Massachusetts who specialize in adopting senior and special needs cats. They have built a loving, peaceful life for him — and soon, Nick will be joining them on the road as they travel the U.S. in their RV while keeping their home base in Massachusetts.
This page will follow Nick’s journey as he enjoys the traveling, adventure, and love he always deserved.
